Fundraiser Results – From Chipwrecked to Champions – A Fundraising Win!
Torpedoes,
I’m excited to share that we’ve officially surpassed last year’s chocolate sales by a wide margin—and we did it in just one night!
Moving away from chocolate sales this year was definitely a controversial decision. However, when we considered the upfront cost to purchase the chocolate, the 27 unsold boxes we had leftover last season, and the fact that it stretched over the entire season, it became clear the costs heavily outweighed the benefits. Additionally, the cost of chocolate was set to increase this year, further cutting into our margins.
Last year’s chocolate fundraiser brought in a profit of only $2,000. In comparison, this year’s Movie Night Fundraiser brought in a net profit of $3,449.68—a major win for the team in both profit and simplicity.
I’ve attached a spreadsheet PDF with a detailed breakdown of our expenses, revenue, and final totals for your review.
Also, be on the lookout for a separate email with a short event survey. Your feedback will be incredibly helpful as we plan future fundraisers.
Thank you again for your dedication and support of the Newport Torpedoes Swim Team. We couldn’t have done this without you!
