Important Information for Tomorrow's Meet Against Woodland Hills Wahoos
Torpedoes,
We are still planning on having the swim meet tomorrow against the Woodland Hills Wahoos. We are closely monitoring the weather but are hopeful to start and finish the meet tomorrow morning.
Here are the important rules we must follow in the event of bad weather:
- The swim meet shall be suspended immediately when thunder is heard or lightning is visible.
- We have weather tracking apps that alert us of lightning within 10 miles of our area.
- The meet will remain suspended until 15 minutes after the last thunder was heard or the last lightning was sighted.
- When a meet is suspended because of lightning and/or thunder, the pool area must be cleared immediately of all participants, officials, and spectators.
- If asked to clear the pool, please shelter in your vehicle, not under your canopy or any trees.
How the NWAL rules dictate we handle the delays.
- If the meet has progressed through event 60 and is suspended due to unfavorable weather, the meet is considered complete, and no reschedule is necessary. The results through the last event completed will be the final score.
- Rescheduling of postponed meets is by mutual agreement. We have already agreed on Monday afternoon as the reschedule date. We do not have permission for Sunday from our HOA.
- If the facility is not available, or if the meet is not rescheduled by mutual agreement, the meet will be declared a draw, and each team will be awarded one-half of the total points for the meet.
Please come prepared for possible rain. Bring extra dry towels and make sure to secure your canopies. We are doing our best to manage this ever-changing weather situation, and your patience is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your cooperation, and let's make sure we are ready for a great meet tomorrow!
Torpedoes make WHITE WATER!!
See you at the pool.
Thank you.
