Congratulations to Our Kids and Important Updates for the Upcoming Swim Meet!
Dear Parents,
First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our amazing kids for their outstanding performance in the recent swim meet against the Village Otters. Their hard work and dedication truly paid off, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
I am thrilled to share the final score with you: Torpedoes - 865, Village Otters - 523. This victory is a testament to the talent and teamwork displayed by our swimmers. Despite the rain delays, they remained focused and gave their all throughout the meet. We couldn't be prouder!
Additionally, I am delighted to share some outstanding news about the records broken during the meet. Let's applaud the following swimmers for their exceptional achievements:
- Blayne Cutbirth (Age 12) - 50 Backstroke: Blayne shattered her previous record of 32.96 from 2022, clocking in at an impressive 32.27.
- Ethan Miguez (Age 13) - 100 Freestyle: Ethan surpassed Caden Blessing's record of 57.59 set in 2021, recording an outstanding time of 56.58. Moreover, Ethan also conquered the 50 Backstroke, surpassing Joshua Sanchez's 2019 record of 31.90 with an incredible time of 29.96.
- Kyle Beylotte (Age 18) - 100 Freestyle: Kyle demonstrated his prowess in the pool by breaking Kobe Williams's record of 54.53 from 2022 with an exceptional time of 52.83.
- Landon Vickers, Peyton Abernathy, Charlie Newsom, and Ethan Miguez (Ages 13-14) - 200 Freestyle Relay: This phenomenal relay team set a new record of 1:54.33, surpassing the previous time of 1:57.69 held by Kobe Williams, Caden Blessing, Coen Killough, and Noah Newton in 2021.
These accomplishments exemplify the talent and dedication our swimmers possess. Please join me in celebrating their hard work and applauding their outstanding performances.
I also have some important updates and reminders to share with you:
- Communication and Relays: Unfortunately, we had a few instances where some kids left before the meet was over without communicating with Coach Kaleigh. As a result, we missed several relays. While this did not impact our performance against the Otters due to our larger team size, it could become an issue when we compete against teams of similar size. Therefore, I kindly request that you please inform Coach Kaleigh if your child needs to leave a meet early. Open communication is essential for the smooth running of our team and ensures that all swimmers have the opportunity to participate fully.
- Declaring Your Kids for the Upcoming Swim Meet: Our next meet is a home event against the Livingston Sea Lions. To ensure that we have an accurate roster and can plan accordingly, please remember to declare your child's participation in this week's swim meet. This declaration will help us organize the lineup and make necessary adjustments before the event. Please notify Coach Kaleigh about your child's availability as soon as possible.
- Volunteer Positions: We still have a few open volunteer positions that urgently need to be filled. Our swim meets simply cannot run without your support and assistance. Please consider volunteering for one of the open positions and help us create a successful and enjoyable experience for all our swimmers. Your involvement is crucial, and we greatly appreciate your time and dedication.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or need further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Together, we can continue to create a supportive and thriving environment for our swimmers.
Thank you for your attention, and let's keep up the fantastic work as we prepare for the upcoming meet against the Livingston Sea Lions!
Best regards,
Pedro Guerrero
