Urgent Notice: Protecting Ourselves from Spam Emails
Dear Parents,
I want to bring to your attention an important matter regarding the safety and security of our swim team's data and your own.
Recently, some of our members have reported receiving suspicious emails that are phishing scams. As a swim team, we do not have an IT team to help us protect our data, so it is crucial that we take extra measures to ensure our safety.
I cannot stress enough the importance of being vigilant when it comes to opening and responding to emails. If you receive an email that looks and sounds suspicious, please take extra steps to verify the authenticity of the sender. You can call or text the person to confirm that they sent the email.
To prevent such phishing scams, we need to take the necessary precautions to protect our confidential information. Please ensure that you are not sharing your passwords, and use strong passwords that cannot be easily guessed.
We are all responsible for protecting ourselves and each other from these types of scams. If you notice any suspicious activity or receive any phishing emails, please inform our board immediately.
We take the security of our swim team very seriously, and we need your help to prevent any potential threats. I appreciate your attention to this matter and thank you for your cooperation.
Please see below for a recent phishing scam we received.
Let's stay safe!
Best regards,
Pedro Guerrero
